Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The manuscript submitted must be your own original work and must comply with the guidelines below.

Before submitting your manuscript, authors are required to carefully check that the paper has been reviewed through a rigorous proofreading process.

Please see our Style Guidelines below:

  • Title page including: Title of the article (font: Palatino; size: 14; bold; first word and proper nouns cap only); full names of all authors, name of corresponding author and his/her email address (font: Palatino; size: 11).
  • Main text document including: Abstract (150-200 words), Keywords (up to 10 words), main text, Appendices (if applicable) and Reference List.

Format of the main text document

Font: Palatino

Size: 11

Headings: Bold

Subheadings: Italics; one level.

Alignment: left hand side

Borders: 2.5 cm on all sides

Spacing: single line; one blank space before headings.

Footnotes: numbered (1, 2, 3 etc.)

Tables: (Table 1) in text; Table 1. Initial cap only

Figures: (Figure 1) in text; Figure 1. Initial cap only

Displayed quotations: indented 1 cm left and right

Numbers in text: spell out one to nine then use numbers

References (left hand side alignment, hanging):

In text: Sicca and Zan (2012) found this useful. Sicca’s (2012) research is also valuable. (Sicca 2012a; 2012b: 82; Boncori 2012; 2014).

One author: Sicca (2012) or (Sicca, 2012)

Two authors: Sicca and Zan (2012) or (Sicca and Zan 2012)

Three authors: Boncori, Sicca, and Bizjak (2015) or (Boncori, Sicca and Bizjak, 2015)

Four or more authors: Di Porzio et al. (2012) (Di Porzio et al., 2012)

Quotations: As Sicca (2014: 67) points out, “quoted text.” As Sicca points out, “quoted text” (2014: 67).
